UAE: UAE and Iran will resolve three islands dispute

Tehran, March 12, IRNA - UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahayan said on Friday at the (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council meeting that UAE and Iran will peacefully resolve the issue of the three islands of Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs.

UAE foreign minister also called on the (P)GCC to exclude the issue of three islands from their agenda.

(P)GCC member-states have reportedly not mentioned anything about the three islands in their final resolution in Riyadh, al-Watan news website reported.

Iran has repeatedly emphasized that the three islands of Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs in the Persian Gulf are inseparable parts of Iran while mentioning the fact that any ambiguity on the issue of the islands can be resolved through peaceful talks.
