Tehran, May 4, IRNA

Iranian and Chinese literary classical works will be translated into the Persian and Chinese languages.

The program will be implemented according to an agreement signed in Tehran on Wednesday by deputy head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization for research and education affairs, Mohammad Reza Dehshiri, and Chinese deputy director of the General Administration of Press and Publications, Wu Shulin.

Based on the agreement, at least five works from both countries will be rendered and published each year.

Dehshiri said that the objective of inking the agreement is to consolidate cultural ties between the two nations and promote their exchanges.

He added that the agreement will open a new chapter in the two countries’ cultural cooperation.

Shulin, for his part, said that translation of cultural works will provide a deep understanding of the two nations’ culture and civilization.
