Middle East: Bahrain Welcomes Obama's Speech

The Cabinet of the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed today the principles contained in the speech delivered by the U.S. President Barack Obama that included visions and principles that agree with democratic strategy adopted by Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

These principles and visions stated the Cabinet in its statement were the basis upon which the national project of His Majesty the King was built and who had drawn the right path for the creation of a constitutional democratic country. Moreover, the project also included democratic right and community participation along with preserving and respecting human rights. The Cabinet also affirmed that the government led by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa exert all efforts to push forward the national project in the direction of more democracy, reform, modernization and development and that the project was continuing in all fields and would continue. Moreover, the Cabinet also affirmed that the door for dialogue was open in the Kingdom of Bahrain since the launch of the National Action Charter and would remain so and hopes that the dialogue witnesses the participation of all to achieve a national consensus through constitutional establishments.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain continued towards more reform in all fields and had responded to the false accusations and wrong information on all occasions. All procedures it indicated had always been and will continue within the constitutional and legal framework and in accordance with international standards with regards to the securing and preservation of human rights. The Cabinet also welcomed the speech related to the peaceful solution with regard to Palestine and hoped that the United States would take speedy steps to reach practical actions that would reflect positively on the peace process in the Middle East.
