Syria: The future of international action on Syria

Citing Libya as an example of the United Nations Security Council overstepping its mandate, Russia and China have blocked a European-led resolution to put international pressure on the regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.

The heated debate which led to US Ambassador Susan Rice walking out as the Syrian representative accused the United States of acting in support of an Israel's interests in the nation, puts the futre of international action towards Syria on shaky ground.
