Istanbul, Nov 2, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi arrived in Turkey Wednesday to take part in the Istanbul conference on Afghanistan to be held on the same day.
Salehi is due to elaborate on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stands on both international and regional issues.The conference is due to be inaugurated by Turkish President Abdullah Gul in the presence of Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai.
Various representatives from different world states including regional countries have also participated in the Istanbul conference.
The participating states include Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Egypt, UK, France, Germany and Australia.
The Istanbul regional conference on Afghanistan is to review ways to bring a stable Afghanistan after the withdrawal of international forces from the Afghan soil by the end of 2014.
