Sudan: Border guards loot refugees in North Darfur

EL FAHSER 22 Nov Members of youth club had to give up money, clothes and other belongings

Eight displaced persons were looted group of border guards in El Fasher's Abu Shouk refugee camp, one of the victims told Radio Dabanga.

Seven young refugees reportedly came out of their youth club and were on their way back home when about five border guard personnel fired in the air. “They then looted all the money in our possession, warm clothes and other belongings at gun point. They also stopped another passing vehicle and stole all the money and a mobile phone that belonged to the driver Ahmed Ibrahim,” the victim said

The border guards also caused major damage to his car. “We have filed a report at the police station along with others who were looted,” the victim said.
