His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, met with Alistair Burt, British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, yesterday in Bahrain.
The meeting, which took place at Gudaibiya Palace in Bahrain, was an opportunity for the two figures to discuss the relationship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
HH the Deputy Prime Minister took the opportunity to highlight the reforms currently underway in Bahrain and the strides that have been made towards greater political, economic and parliamentary cooperation.
Burt stressed the need for continued political reform in Bahrain, also discussing the recommendations that came out of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) report. The BICI was commissioned by Bahrain's King, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to examine the unrest in Bahrain earlier this year.
Also in attendance at Gudabiya Palace was the British Ambassador to Bahrain Iain Lindsay and Bahrain's Foreign Ministry undersecretary Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla.
