Bilateral Relations: Iran's Ahmadinejad welcomed by Cuban counterpart

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was officially welcomed by his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro, it was reported Thursday.

The welcoming ceremony was held Wednesday local time at the presidential palace in Havan.

The national anthems of Iran and Cuba were played during the ceremony.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Cuba on the third leg of his four-nation tour to Latin America that started on Sunday.

Before his arrival in the Cuaban capital, the Iranian President visited Venezuela and Nigaragua respectively.

While in Cuba, President Ahmadinejad has so far paid tribute to the tomb of the country's national hero Jose Marti who was the founder of the Cuban Revolutionary Party in 1892.

President Ahmadinejad signed a memorial book for Marti while he was visiting a museum that displayed Marti's works.
