Beirut, Feb 8, IRNA -- Lebanese Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallh said Iran expects nothing in return for the support it gives to Hezballah and Palestine and sees the help as a religious duty which is truly praisworthy.

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah was speaking in a celebration in Beirut on Tuesday on the occasion of anniversary of the birth of the holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his granson Imam Jafar Sadeq (AS), also the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

'The victory of of the Islamic Revolution in Iran gave momentum to the project of Islamic Unity,' he said.

'Islamic unity requires the Muslimss to cooperate to serve their major interests, without compromising the faith-based details of each doctrine,' stressed the Hezballah chief.

Referring to the imposed war of Saddam on Iran, Nasrallh said Arab money was spent for war on Iran instead of the Palestinian resistance to liberate the Holy Qods and the occupied territories.

'After the war on Iran failed, they fabricated the sedition and the talk about Iranian and Shiite tide, as an element of soft war against Iran.'

'There is no basis for the so-called Shiite tide,' stressed Nasrallah.

'Hezballah has received from Iran the moral, political and financial support in all its available forms since 1982,'

'This support is a pride of the Islamic republic, because the resistance has achieved the most prominent Arab victory over the enemy. This victory wasn't to be achieved without Iranian support, and Syriaa had a big role in the victory.'

On situation in Syria, Nasrallah said there is almost an Israeli consensus on the need to bring the Syrian regime down, in addition to the American-Israeli-Arab-Western decision to topple the regime.

'The Syrian army is still intact and supporting the regime, in addition to the bulk of Syrian people standing by their leadership,' said Nasrallah.
