Leaders at Zam Zam camp in North Darfur have warned of a humanitarian disaster and potential famine.
They say residents regularly complain of hunger, due to lack of food amid high commodity prices.
An activist from Zam Zam told Radio Dabanga that camp residents have not received their monthly rations scheduled by the World Food Programme (WFP) for the start of the month.
'More than two weeks have passed since the distribution of the rations, which has transformed the camp a state of near starvation,' confirmed the activist.
He stressed that the problem is due to residents not knowing when food is distributed, those losing their identity cards and not being registered by the WFP.
The activist told Radio Dabanga that the camp has formed a committee to sit down with the WFP to address card losses and those whose names are not registered.
