Hitch's Thought For The Day: May 19, 2012

It's Saturday night and as always that means the blog will not be published until Tuesday. If you have read my "Unleashed!" blog or maybe seen me on Twitter, you will know I sign off with "Wherever you may be - be safe" a phrase I have been using for nearly seven years.

However, I know that for many of you, in many places, many different backgrounds, race, color, religion, political beliefs, gender, occupations or sexual preference, living up to such a phrase is not easy to do. It's something that perhaps those of us living in safer environments tend to forget - or maybe even choose to forget.

This blog can not make such people safer, it can not offer protection or guarantees. Hopefully however, what it can do, is make others more aware of what is happening elsewhere. The living in fear, the constant persecution and harassment, the sound of gunfire that others have to endure on a daily basis.

To all who read this blog, wherever you may be, whatever your situation - may you and your loved ones be safe.
