Beijing, June 6, IRNA – Culture ministers of Iran and Russia here on Wednesday stressed the need for further cooperation to confront West’s cultural assault.
In a meeting held on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini and Pavel Khoroshilov highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation.
Hosseini said Washington is determined to continue its political dominance over the world through its cultural and artistic productions.
He said the Shanghai member states including Iran and Russia, thanks to their rich cultural Asian roots, could well work together to confront the West’s cultural assault.
Khoroshilov, too, said Iran was a culturally rich country and voiced his country’s readiness to expand cooperation with Tehran in cultural areas including setting up exhibitions.
