The U.S. Department of State on June 19th, 2012, released a statement expressing its deep concern on the so-called crackdown by the Sudanese authorities on peaceful demonstrations and publication censorship of independent newspapers.

In this regard, the Embassy of the Republic of the Sudan would like to state that the U.S. government according to its rules and regulations does not allow any of its citizens or non-citizens to lead a public demonstration, or protest, without the permission of the concerned authorities, giving specific time and place for that purpose.

In this context, the Government of the Sudan would like to state that it does not interfere in the internal affairs of the Government of the United States, and would appreciate if the Government of the United States would reciprocate and not interfere in the internal affairs of the Government of Sudan.
