Damascus, June 13, IRNA – Syrian Vice-President Farouk al-Shara called Iran’s role in the region valuable and important and underlined importance of strategic relations between the two countries.
According to Iranian embassy in Damascus, Shara in a meeting with Iran Ambassador to Syria Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheybani said that Iran and Syria are under pressure because of their support for Resistance and confrontation with the Zionist regime.
Referring to visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Tehran on Wednesday, al-Shara underlined necessity of continuation of consultations between Tehran and Syria.
A number of media have said that the goal of Lavrov visit to Tehran is the issue of Iran nuclear dossier and Syrian developments.
