New Delhi, Sept 13, IRNA -- Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Bashiruddin Ahmad on Thursday asked all US citizens in the Valley to 'immediately leave' the state in the wake of the controversial video which has hurt the sentiment of Muslim community.

'The US citizens visiting Kashmir should leave immediately as the sentiments of the Muslims have been hurt by these pictures,' Ahmad said.

The Grand Mufti said the blasphemous content on Internet about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is highly condemnable.

'Everyone accepts the greatness of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and any attempt to malign his image will not be tolerated,' he said.

Ahmad said Muslims across the world should raise their voice against these attempts and hold protests.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police said today that efforts were being made to delete a controversial film on the social networking sites deemed to be offensive to Islam that has sparked anti-US protests in Libya, Egypt and Yemen.

It is being represented that the availability of such film through social media may create discontent and generate protests in India also, PTI news agency quoted a release from the Police Commissioner's office as saying.

In view of this, efforts are being made to delete this content from YouTube and other social networking sites.

The police warned of severe action against anybody who tries to disseminate any such material which may hurt sentiments of a certain community.

The police also appealed to the public to pass on any information to them if they come across any such material or contents.

They also appealed for maintainance of peace and harmony in view of the sensitive situation prevailing in the city.

Earlier, the Home Ministry has forwarded a request of the Jammu and Kashmir government to block all webpages where the film is available to Director General of Computer Emergency Response Team India for urgent action.

'The DG CERT-In is looking into the matter and in all probability the webpages will be blocked soon,' a Home Ministry official said today.

A 14-minute trailer for the video titled 'Innocence of Muslims,” was uploaded on the Internet depicting 'Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a derogatory manner.'

According to media reports, the video is a brain child of a 52-year old Israeli-American, Sam Bacile who had received a donation of five million US dollars from 100 Jewish donors to make a movie called 'Islam is Cancer.'

Angered by the anti-Islam film, protesters stormed the US consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi in Libya on Tuesday, killing American Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
