Middle East: Iran FM, Syria president hold talks

Damascus, Sept 19, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held talks here Wednesday on the latest international and regional developments, as well as crisis in this country.

Prior to the talks, Salehi conferred with his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Muallem on issues of mutual interest.

Iran's foreign minister arrived in Damascus Wednesday morning, after ending his visit to Cairo where he attended a tripartite meeting with his Turkish and Egyptian counterparts on the Syrian crisis.
