New Delhi, Oct 10, IRNA - Iran is willing to support Bangladesh in energy, agriculture and railway sectors, said an official handout in Dhaka Tuesday.
Iran showed its interest when its Minister for Industries, Commerce and Mineral Resources Mehdi Ghazanfari called on his Bangladeshi counterpart Dilip Barua at the latter's office, said BSS report from Dhaka.
The Iranian minister also said his country was ready to help Bangladesh in human resources development, agro-processing industries and railway modernizations.
Ghazanfari arrived in Dhaka Tuesday to participate in the third ministerial meeting of the Developing Eight Countries (D-8), set to open Wednesday.
During his two-day stay in Dhaka, Ghazanfari will hold talks with a number of his counterparts from the D-8 states and also address the ministerail meeting.
The D-8 is a development cooperation forum consisting Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
The first ministerial meeting of the D-8 was held in the Iranian capital of Tehran in 2010 while the second meeting was held one year later in Istanbul, Turkey.
