Tehran, Nov 7, IRNA – Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned anti-Iran claims of British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers claims of British prime minister in full contradiction with the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities and the findings of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
It condemned "the vain and unreal claims" of the British prime minister on Iran's nuclear program in Abu Dhabi University.
It stressed that Iranian nation will not yield to pressures of the hegemonic powers in its drive to restore its absolute rights based on the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
It added that illogical claims of British prime minister obviously confirms that as far as Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are concerned, the UK government pays the least attention to the internationally justified mechanisms and the recognized rights envisaged by the NPT.
"The concern over arms race in the Middle East is raised at a time when the main goal of the British prime minister in the region was in line with shipment of large amount of British arms to the sensitive Middle East and Persian Gulf."
The statement said that Iran's peaceful nuclear program is within framework of international laws and regulations and under the IAEA supervision.
"To prove its goodwill, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always had its utmost cooperation with the IAEA, believing that purposeful talks and constructive and mutual engagement would have no alternative," it added.
It said Iranian government and nation have always proved that it would never yield to pressures of the hegemonic powers in its drive to restore its absolute rights based on the NPT and based on its national cause, resolve and interests.
