Bishkek, Dec 5, IRNA – The 11th meeting of Prime Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states opened here Wednesday in the presence of Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi.
The objective of this annual meeting is negotiating on economic and trade affairs as well as counternarcotics and counterterrorism.
Rahimi will address the meeting on regional issues.
In related developments, Rahimi held talks with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev on Tuesday and would confer with President Kurmanbek Bakiyev later today.
The first VP arrived in Bishkek on Tuesday morning to attend the 11th SCO meeting.
Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari is accompanying the VP in his two-day visit.
