Tehran, June 21, IRNA – Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki called for expansion of relations with Iran.
The Tunisian president made the remarks in a meeting with Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in the Tunisian capital of Tunis on Friday.
Iranian Ambassador to Tunis Peyman Jebeli was present in the meeting.
The Tunisian president in a message to Iran’s President-elect Hassan Rohani congratulated him on his landslide victory in the 11th presidential election.
“Tunisia will support any effort aimed at bringing about unity and promotion of convergence among Muslim nations,” Marzouki said.
