Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksander Vucic, in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Belgrade here on Friday, called for expansion of ties with Iran.
Referring to Iran’s ancient civilization, Vucic said the two countries have possibilities and appropriate grounds for expansion of cooperation in different fields of social, political and cultural matters.
He also appreciated Iran’s stance on Kosovo issue and called it a clear evidence of commonalities in the viewpoints.
Ambassador Majid Fahimpour, for his part, also called for expansion of cooperation, adding that Iran wants to develop bilateral ties in different fields with Serbia.
The ambassador also invited Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic to attend the oath taking ceremony of President-elect Hassan Rohani.
