Tehran, Aug 1, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister in Consulate, Parliamentary and Iraniansˈ Affairs Resided Abroad acknowledged the release of 78 Iranian sailors arrested by the Puntland autonomous government in Somalia.
According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Diplomacy Department, Hassan Qashqavi said that by persistence of the ministry and holding talks the release of the abducted sailors becem possible.
ˈThe procees included meeteings with Somalian officials to pardon the sailors on the occasion of fasting month of Ramadanˈ, added Qashqavi, saying that the sailors were released and returned home on Tuesday.
He added that the number of the released sailors was 78 and five coniscated vessels of them were also released.
