Elysee Palace in a statement on Friday said French
President Francois Hollande and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rohani
meet on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly annual
meeting in New York.
The main issues of discussion will be Iran’s nuclear programme and Syria crisis, a close official to the French president said.
The official said, We believe Iran, like other effective elements in the crisis, should participate in political transfer in Syria.
A number of French political analysts consider the meeting as a unique opportunity to discuss some important issues between the two states.
The meeting would be the first one between presidents of the two countries since the year 2005.
