Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tuesday that Iran is not pursuing a double standard policy regarding regional developments.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Swiss State Secretary Yves Rossier.
Rossier is currently in Tehran to discuss major bilateral, regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Syria, with Iranian officials.
Considering regional developments, from Bahrain to Egypt and Yemen, Iran is pursuing a foreign policy based on cessation of violence, conducting national dialogue and adopting democratic approaches, Amir-Abdollahian said.
Meanwhile, the two officials expressed concern over the spread of extremism and terrorism in Syria.
They stressed the need for international cooperation and bilateral consultation to help restore peace and stability both to Syria and the region in general.
Amir-Abdollahian said that spread of terrorism would endanger both regional and extra-regional countries.
