On April 6, 2014, Vladimir Kislinger, the director of the School of
Social Communications of Ucab (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello)
Guayana was threatened with murder by two unidentified subjects.
Professor Kislinger explained to IPYS-Venezuela that he was leaving his mother-in-law's house located in the Jardín Levante sector at 7:10 pm, when next to his car he saw a dark green Renault vehicle and two men inside yelled threats at him: “We are going to break you, if you continue supporting those sifrinitos," referring to young people who come from well-off families.
Kislinger believes that the harassment is a result of his work as an activist and his open support for the young university students who have been protesting in the nation's streets. He had also just returned from the U.S. where he participated in the International Program of Visiting Leaders from March 8 to 29, during which he talked about the situation of Venezuelan journalism with U.S. authorities and many journalists from other parts of the world.
