Vienna, May 16, IRNA -- A spokesperson for European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton here Thursday said this round talks between Iran and six world powers had so far been ˈvery useful.ˈ
Michael Mann told IRNA on the sidelines of the Vienna IV talks, ˈI think they (talks) were very useful today. We have done a lot of work.ˈ
Asked if there had been progress in the discussions, Mann replied, ˈI wonˈt give any details what has happened in the talks but they were working very hard and there was a lot of useful work.ˈ
ˈThere is always a workmanlike and professional atmosphere between the different negotiators,ˈ he said.
Mann referred to a 3.5 hour meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Ashton, saying it involved ˈhard work.ˈ
He reiterated the final objective of the ongoing negotiation process was ˈto come to a constructive agreement.ˈ
ˈNobody expected to get to an agreement this week but we try to focus on what the elements of a possible element could be.ˈ
Mann said the date of the next round of nuclear talks would be set on Friday.
